Choosing a boiler is a 15-year decision. Get it right and it runs quietly in the background. Get it wrong and you spend 15 years chasing spare parts and paying for callouts. Here is an honest 2026 comparison of the brands that install regularly in Leeds.

Worcester Bosch

Range

  • 4000 Series: budget-conscious combis. Great value.
  • Greenstar 8000: mid-range, wide model choice.
  • Greenstar 8000 Life: premium combis and system boilers.

Warranty

10 to 12 years standard with annual service. Backed by Bosch, one of the largest engineering firms in the world; not going anywhere.

Parts availability

Excellent. Any trusted local engineer can source Worcester parts within 24 hours anywhere in the UK.

Our take

Our default recommendation for most Leeds homes. Reliable, well-supported, fairly priced. Not the cheapest, not the most efficient, but the least risky.

Vaillant

Range

  • ecoTEC Pro: entry-level combis.
  • ecoTEC Plus: mid to premium combi and system.
  • ecoFIT Pure: budget combi range.

Warranty

10 years on Plus range. Robust German engineering, longer expected service life than average.

Parts availability

Very good. Slightly slower than Worcester in Leeds specifically because fewer merchant stockists carry Vaillant spares.

Our take

The efficiency king. If your gas bill matters, Vaillant modulates lower than the others which saves 5 to 10 percent over 10 years. Not the flashiest but the most engineered.

Ideal

Range

  • Logic Max: budget combis.
  • Vogue Max: mid-range.
  • Logic+ System: system boilers.

Warranty

10 years on Logic and Vogue Max ranges. UK-manufactured in Hull, so parts and support are very quick.

Parts availability

Excellent in the north of England. Same-day parts from local merchants.

Our take

Best value on the market. Not quite as prestigious as Worcester or Vaillant but 90 percent of the reliability at 80 percent of the price. Solid choice for landlords and cost-conscious homeowners.

Baxi

Range

  • Duo-tec: mid-range combis
  • 800 Combi 2: premium range
  • Ecofit Pure: budget

Warranty

7 to 10 years standard. Owned by BDR Thermea (also owns Potterton, Remeha and Andrews).

Our take

Perfectly fine but rarely our first recommendation. Similar performance to Ideal at a slightly higher price.

Viessmann

Range

  • Vitodens 050-W: budget combi
  • Vitodens 100-W: mid-range
  • Vitodens 200-W: premium

Warranty

10 years standard. Premium German engineering, arguably the best-built boiler on the market.

Parts availability

Good but slower than Worcester in Leeds. Viessmann parts network is smaller.

Our take

The Rolls Royce option. Excellent engineering, quiet, efficient. Priced 15 to 20 percent above Worcester equivalent. Worth it for a forever-home; less so for a house you might sell in 5 years.

Brands to avoid

We do not fit these except by explicit customer request:

  • Ferroli (parts hard to source, warranty support poor)
  • Alpha (build quality patchy in our experience)
  • Vokera (had reliability issues 2018-2022, improving but still cautious)

Which for your home?

  • Small terrace, 1 bath, cost-conscious: Ideal Logic Max 30kW
  • Standard 3-bed semi, best all-round: Worcester Bosch 4000 30kW or Vaillant ecoTEC Pro 30kW
  • 4-bed detached, 2 bathrooms: Worcester 8000 Life or Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 38kW
  • Premium forever-home: Viessmann Vitodens 200-W
